EXILES’s lawyer Mikhail Benyash has described the typical profile of someone Lithuania declares a national security threat.

Judging by the cases our lawyers currently have in hand, this is someone who:
– is a citizen of Russia or Belarus;
– was not actively involved in opposition activity in their home country;
– has a work history at a state-owned enterprise.

People who fit these criteria may be declared a threat to Lithuania and stripped of their residence permit.

EXILES’s lawyers Mikhail Benyash and Dmitry Zakhvatov discussed this at a meeting in Vilnius held on 24 September.

If you also wanted to attend the event but could not, whether because places were limited or for any other reason, send us a message in our direct messages.

If enough people are interested, we will try to organise another event of this kind.
